Woodhall Spa Airfield was a former WW2 airbase and is now a nature reserve managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. In the post war years the site was extensively quarried for sand and gravel which has created areas of marsh, lakes and wetlands. In 2016 I was commissioned to design and build a viewing compound on top of a quarry mound. The compound overlooks the entire site and  is accessed by a spiral pathway. The compound and rails along the path were constructed from cattle proof wooden fencing. Within the compound there are four fixed timber benches with oak seats and backs. These slides show the stages of construction and the finished compound.
